Two-Photon Absorption Calculator
How to Use This Calculator
Enter the transition rate (W) and intensity (I) values into the respective input fields. The calculator will automatically compute the two-photon absorption cross-section (σ).
Purpose of This Calculator
The Two-Photon Absorption Calculator is used in nonlinear optics and photonics research to determine the two-photon absorption cross-section based on the transition rate and light intensity.
Formula
σ = W / I²
Where:
- σ = two-photon absorption cross-section (cm⁴·s/photon)
- W = transition rate (s⁻¹)
- I = intensity (W·cm⁻²)
Example Calculation
If the transition rate is 5 × 10⁴ s⁻¹ and intensity is 2 × 10³ W·cm⁻², then:
σ = 5×10⁴ / (2×10³)² = 5×10⁴ / 4×10⁶ = 0.0125 cm⁴·s/photon
