Neutralization Calculator
How to use this calculator
Enter the volume and concentration of the acid and the concentration of the base. The calculator will automatically compute the required volume of base needed to completely neutralize the acid.
What is this calculator used for?
This tool is used in chemistry to calculate the volume of base required to neutralize a given amount of acid. It is particularly useful in titration and lab preparation experiments.
Formula
Vb = (Ca × Va) / Cb
Where:
Vb = Volume of base (L)
Ca = Concentration of acid (mol/L)
Va = Volume of acid (L)
Cb = Concentration of base (mol/L)
Example
If you have 0.1 L of acid at 1 mol/L concentration, and you want to neutralize it with a base of 0.5 mol/L, then:
Vb = (1 × 0.1) / 0.5 = 0.2 L
