What is Langmuir Isotherm?

The Langmuir isotherm describes the adsorption of molecules onto a solid surface and is represented by the equation:

q = (q_max × K × C) / (1 + K × C)

How to Use This Calculator

• Enter the equilibrium constant (K) in L/mol.
• Input the concentration of adsorbate (C) in mol/L.
• Provide the maximum adsorption capacity (q_max) in mg/g.
• The calculator will automatically compute the adsorption (q).

Example

If K = 0.2 L/mol, C = 0.5 mol/L, and q_max = 100 mg/g, then:

q = (100 × 0.2 × 0.5) / (1 + 0.2 × 0.5) = 10 / 1.1 = 9.09 mg/g
