Mole Fraction Calculator

Mole Fraction Calculator

What is this calculator for?

This Mole Fraction Calculator helps you determine the mole fraction of a component in a chemical mixture. Mole fraction is a unit of concentration that expresses the ratio of the number of moles of a component to the total number of moles in the mixture.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter the moles of the desired component (e.g., Component A).
  2. Enter the total moles in the mixture (sum of all components).
  3. Click the "Calculate Mole Fraction" button to see the result.

Formula Used

Mole Fraction (XA) = nA / ntotal
Where:
nA = moles of component A
ntotal = total moles of all components

Example

If you have 2 moles of substance A and the total moles of all substances in the mixture is 5, then:
Mole Fraction = 2 / 5 = 0.4
